East Bay Fencers Gym was founded in 2000 by fencing master Abdul Habek and a handful of fencers. It has since become a center of epee fencing on the West Coast.

Built on a foundation of camaraderie and intensive workouts to build strength, coordination, and endurance, EBFG fencers are successful at all levels of competition. East Bay fencers have represented the United States at team and individual epee world cups and on two Veterans World Championship teams. They regularly finish in the top 8 at all levels of national competition, including senior, junior, and veteran national championships.
