Originally often known as Vancouver Junior College, the faculty was positioned at the old Hidden House at one hundred W 13th Street in downtown Vancouver from , shifting a number of occasions throughout the metropolis. The main campus was previously part of the Vancouver Barracks, which extended from Fourth Plain to the Columbia River but have been ceded by the U.S. In 2014 the school established its first four-year program, a baccalaureate in the medical field, and have become acknowledged as a 4-12 months school. Although no formal engineering program existed on the Maryland Agricultural College, early curriculum included programs in surveying, construction, mechanics, and electrical energy. During the early years of the University, much of the coursework centered round getting ready college students for a profession in agriculture.
