Laura J. Roberts was raised in Iowa and moved to Chicago after graduating from the University of Iowa. She left Chicago for a three-month holiday in Italy after breaking up with her boyfriend of eight years and leaving her job in marketing at a large global consulting firm after 15 years. She is happily residing in Rome, and is the luckiest person on earth.
