About
The Alikes section is quite slim and in addition fairly stony in places, backed by numerous bars and eating places, mostly competing to be the least Greek. There's also a "shipwreck", a sunken wooden crusing yacht sitting in quite shallow water which youngsters (and grown-up children!) can wade out to and climb all over. A stroll of round 1km from Alykanas resort centre, via "Old" Alykanas village, brings you to the peaceful Xehoriati Beach. This slim stretch of fantastic sand has stunning views throughout to Kefalonia and the Peloponnese, and cabinets out very slowly offering protected swimming with numerous rocky reefs for attention-grabbing snorkelling.
Xehoriati is served by 2 restaurants vying to have the most incongruous name. There's also a mini-market about 150m from the seashore for snacks, chilled drinks etc. At Cape Skinari on the northern tip of the island - these are probably the most spectacular. Ther
