In my 50 years in the workforce, I found long-haul interstate trucking in Australia to be the best type of job for my type of personality. As a truck driver I get to travel around a lot and see cool places and things, and visit places I have never been. And therein lies the main issue with it. The physical act of operating a semi-truck isn't that much different from driving a pickup truck pulling a travel trailer or bass boat. The problem is you're doing it 8–10 hours a day, seven days a week, for weeks or even months on end. By week two you will be able to catch up.
