About
In my 50 years in the workforce, I found long-haul interstate trucking in Australia to be the best type of job for my type of personality. As a truck driver I get to travel around a lot and see cool places and things, and visit places I have never been. It can be hard sometimes for the family because sometimes you always have to work and you never really got to stay at home too long. Which can upset your family sometimes because you may not be able to do a lot of things with them. Trucking isn't for everyone, honestly, it's a pretty tough lifestyle. And therein lies the main issue with it. The physical act of operating a semi-truck isn't that much different from driving a pickup truck pulling a travel trailer or bass boat. The problem is you're doing it 8–10 hours a day, seven days a week, for weeks or even months on end. By week two you will be able to catch up. As a truck driver one of the crucial things when driving is the wheel alignment.
