Sylvaine Rouy Neves emigrated from France to complete her education, settled in New York City where she married, raised three children and worked in her husband's family's restaurant, the Blue Mill Tavern for decades. During that time, she enrolled in writing classes at The New School, and had articles published in The New York Times and other publications.
