Adele Mendelson was born in Cleveland, Ohio.
She moved to San Francisco when she was nineteen years old to attend college.

She earned a Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language and had a twenty-year career in the English Language Program at the University of California at Berkeley.

Adele has written four volumes of poetry, a dozen short stories, and the novel Sarah and Zari,

She reads her work at various venues around the
San Francisco Bay Area.
