About the Book
Dubrovnik was one of my destination in 2019 for a long weekend with my partner. The city architecture is absolutely beautiful with the old city and its citadel. I brought with me for the trip a digital and analog camera and was quite positive about taking nice picture during the trip. However, after 2 days nothing … Absolutely no inspiration and not one single good picture to bring back home
.
After having some thoughts on the issue, I realised that the city was absolutely empty of the life of its habitants due to overtourism Dubrovnik is victim of. This success had for consequence to push locals out of the city and replace it for shops and restaurants specifically targeting tourists. You have therefore a strange feeling that you are in the city designed for tourists, like Vegas and with no city life or historical elements.
What I disliked became my source of inspiration and I switched my focus to photograph the tourists in Dubrovnik and show the beauty of this city with the tourism layer.
