About the Book
Conceived in Wales in 1996, first photographed in Mexico in 1998, best example taken in The Western Sahara in 2004 and finally photographed and exhibited in New Zealand in 2008, this project is all about perceiving perfection, manifest in a physical form, as an expression of enlightenment and then travelling with that form all around the world in the most minimally negative way possible ... attempting to leave everything unaffected by one's presence. It is a self-reflection of intelligence and enlightenment which appears quite alien to the environments in which the photographs are taken.
The closest philosophy / ideology in the world to this idea is probably Buddhism. The work was the basis for the what followed. See Conceptual Art book for more.
The photographs were taken in 1998, 1999 and 2004, 2005 ( and again in 2008 for an Exhibition that was held in New Zealand).
The project received an UK Arts Council grant in 1999. Ultimately this project represents the years 1996 to 1999. (Work for this book was recovered and repaired in 2018)
