About the Book
Sam Vogelstein grew up with a severe form of epilepsy that caused him to spend much of his childhood in a state of unconsciousness. Many of his experiences had to be described to him by others. Now, as a high school student, he is able to tell his own story for the first time. In sharing it, he hopes that readers will learn about the power of persistence, and about seizure disorders and the experimental medications that can treat them.
