He Is Not What You Want Him To Be' intimately explores a young man's mental and physical state through performance and conversations with classical imagery. The series confronts the viewer with a disparity between what they want and expect from the male body and the contemporary realities of masculinity.

Posing as a fluid exploration of the self, the series plays out a tension between direction and imagination, placing the viewer in a state of dissatisfaction and a degree of confusion. Considering the stereotyped and historical images of men from classical sculpture to contemporary advertisements, Leissle and Sharkey seek to promote a re-imagined and ambiguous display of man.
