A prevalent issue in our world today is mental illness. Mental illness is on the rise, especially in our young people; our future leaders. A large majority have a diagnosable disorder but don't know about it. Many can't afford medication or therapy.

As a young adult with mental disorders, I wanted to step into other people's shoes; people around my age with varying disorders. I learned what life is like for them, and the many different ways mental illness can look.

From this book, I hope you take away this: mental illness is very commonplace. It looks different for everyone. You can't always tell it's there. Because of this, check on your friends every now and then. It can end up helping someone, or even saving a life.
