About the Book
£5 from every purchase of this book goes to 'Wiccaweys Rescued Border Collies and Working Sheepdogs'.
This is the story of how we came to add an extra member to our family in 2008, our beautiful boy Mitch. It’s the story of his past, his rescue and his wonderful future with us and his new brother Monty.
We found Mitch at ‘Wiccaweys Rescued Border Collies and Working Sheepdogs’, who are based in Northamptonshire, UK. Wiccaweys are dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of Border Collies & Working Sheepdogs. It is run by just two people, Sarah and Paul and some very kind volunteers. They are quite a different type of rescue. As Border Collies do not fend well in kennels, all dogs that come into Wiccaweys as rescues or for re-homing become part of the family. The dogs are socialised in a home environment or with one of their wonderful foster homes. They can have up to 30-40 dogs in their care at one time.
Mitch’s story is a real example of the wonder that Wiccaweys does. It is just one of their many success stories.
This book also tell 14 other Wiccaweys tales, just a handful of the many happy endings to come from Wiccaweys. These stories show just how much dogs can touch people’s lives and just how much they can love and trust us even after almost giving up on life with humans.
We created this book initially to celebrate our wedding which was 'Rescued Border Collies' themed. We had a book on each of our tables and named each table after one of the rescue dogs in this book.
