Cecilia’s challenge, as a social documentary photographer, has been to draw the viewers’ attention to important global issues and their impact on a diversity of cultures. In her portraits she engages our emotions by presenting us with an individuals’ story. Through this process she makes us more aware of our similarities than our differences. She makes us care which is the first step towards making us want to get involved. She travels widely to seek inspiration and to add a voice for others who otherwise would be left silent.
