About the Creator
Artist Leslie Clark has explored Africa searching for new perspective and old wisdom. Her paintings focus on the people she has met and their lives. The Sahara desert and its nomadic people have become the heart of her work. She now lives and paints half the year in Agadez, Niger. Nomad Gallery in Ojai, California, where she lives the other half of the year, sells her work along with traditional African artifacts, jewelry, textiles and carvings. To repay the gift that Africa and its nomads have given her, she founded the Nomad Foundation, US non profit organization seeking to blend cultural preservation and economic opportunity for nomadic people.
