    About the Book

    Edit

Seeing Change offers a detailed and in-depth analysis of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, and Queer/Questioning (LGBTQ) community throughout history and in the modern world. It explores a variety of subtopics, such as the American military, the travel industry, and the political structures of various countries. In a time where the LGBTQ community is generally becoming more widely accepted in westernized nations, some countries are moving backward quite aggressively, offering little hope for worldwide equality. This book highlights many of the oppressive behaviors, misguided political actions, and intense discrimination across multiple countries that has led to this global inequality, drawing attention to key factors that shape opinions such as cultural upbringing and the mainstream media. The goal of Seeing Change is to bring both background research and personal narrative together to inform the world about the many adversities that the LGBTQ community has faced and continues to face on a daily basis. The hope is to show that members of the LGBTQ community are human too, and regardless of how they identify themselves, they deserve equal treatment.
