About the Book
Like many Australians, I've long been fascinated by the legend of Australia's most famous bushranger, Ned Kelly. I began this photography project in 'Kelly Country' aiming to capture a sense of place. However, I also found myself confronted by countless effigies of the Kelly Gang. This appropriation is not surprising. The bold, iconic imagery of their armour is a major factor in the continuing mystique of the Kelly story.

About the Creator

Melbourne Australia
I began my career in professional photography in 1980. While working freelance, I satisfied my passion and developed my vision by pursuing personal work, which included landscape, portrait, and street photography. In 2003 I ceased working professionally so that I could concentrate totally on pursuing my own work. In 2010 I joined the Melbourne committee of the Ballarat International Foto Biennale (BIFB), which is now a member of the world-wide photography festival grouping, the Festival de la Luz (Festival of Light). This is proving to be immensely satisfying.
