About the Book
Funded by the Victorian Department of Justice and supported by the City of Ballarat, We R You engaged locals from diverse backgrounds in collaborative workshops, resulting in striking, oversized black-and-white portraits pasted onto city walls.
Printed on plain paper and installed using eco-friendly, water-based glue, these artworks were a temporary yet impactful way for residents to reclaim and revitalise public spaces.
📸 Inside the book, you’ll discover:
- Over 100 large-scale portraits of Ballarat residents
- Behind-the-scenes moments from workshops and installations
Originally exhibited between January – May 2013, this project continues to inspire conversations about belonging, representation, and the power of art in urban landscapes.
