About the Book
A 40 page voyage into the world of late German WWII combat helmets produced by the Eisenhuttenwerk Thale Helmet Factory in the 1943-45 period. Extremely rare examples are illustrated in addition to the more common types. A look into the German Prototype helmet development program with their convex shapes, and the shortcomings of the then current German (M35) helmet which spawned a completely new concept in German Helmet design. It covers mainly late Thale produced helmets, primarily no-decal M42s but also some ventless, factory brown, phosphate coated, ultra-high lot numbered, rail car captures, late war reissues, contractor reissues, ultra thin steel, low grade steel, and a section on the German prototype development program. 40 pages approx. 8X10 format.
