About the Book
This is a book of black and white images made in and around Liberian urban and rural public schools in January, 2014. The photographs capture the deplorable state of the schools in this civil-war ravaged West African nation, but also capture the hopefulness of the children who seem to understand that obtaining an education is their only hope of ever escaping the crushing poverty that is the norm for their fellow Liberians.
