Mary F. Striegel is the only child of Paul Striegel and Jean Eleanor Bicker. She earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry which she says is not unlike good cooking. Not afraid to try her had at many things, she dabbles in quilting sewing, and writing poetry when she isn't working as a conservation scientist with the National Park Service.
