Bruce was in the Navy from July 1964 through July 1967, attending Boot Camp in San Diego, California. After Boot Camp Bruce was assigned to Personnel Accounting Machine Installation, Pacific Fleet (PAMIPACFLT) on North Island in San Diego where he received training for Data Processing Technician. After schooling, Bruce received orders to the U.S.S. Bryce Canyon where he spent the remainder of his enlistment, (1965-1967). After his discharge, he remained in the computer industry for over 35 years. Bruce recently retired, and as a hobby he scans cruise books from various ships as well as photos, slides, documents, and memorabilia from all branches of the military. In addition, he develops web sites to display those cruise books and scanned images. Digital reproductions of cruise books and other memorabilia are available on CD ROM.
