In an annual tradition , the ancient rice planting ceremony continues to this day at the sacred grounds of the Ise Shrine in Mie Prefecture. Shinto priests offer fruits, fish and rice to the Gods before the start of the rice planting on the fields belonging to the Ise Shrine.
