About the Book
Colin Hatton came to the US in late June of 1960, with no real plan but assuming he'd go back to England in a couple of years because that's where his family and friends were as well all his other support systems.
But it didn't turn out that way.
50 years later he reviews his impressions of his first five years in the United States after having moved to Rochester, New York, with no friends initially and his only relative in the country three thousand miles away in Prescott, Arizona.

Los Angeles, California
Born in the East End of London in 1935 and lived through the Blitz. Worked in a factory for five years from the age of 16. Got an education that enabled me to move into a new industry that made it possible to emigrate to the US in 1960. Lived upstate New York for a time, got married, had two children, changed jobs, locations, got divorced. Finished up in Los Angeles in 1971 which is where I remain. I moved from process control to computers and also moved from engineering to writing. Started my own small marketing communications business catering to the high tech industries. This included over ten years with Xerox as a client.
