About the Book
A rare look inside the World of Baghdad, Iraq, (2011). Share the journey of my civilian life committed to work a year in the city. My eclectic images are taken within the confines of the International Zone.
I call my work Pieces of Baghdad to explain that they are similar to pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. I expose the hardships of Baghdad stemmed from the aftermath of the U.S. invasion in the initial pages.
I then reveal the transition of war to restoration through preservation of art, history, sancutary, and persevering beauty. Lastly, I end with evidence of recovery through modern civilization.
I would like my images to inspire others who survive in war-torn countries to reach for hope and find a way to keep it close to their hearts. Some day they will have peace and stability once again.
