About the Book
We four photographers, known as "Illuminata", have individually produced bodies of work that each, in its own way, explores an aspect of change or transformation. The images reflect the transitory nature of things and experience. Often, as this realization hits us there is a melancholy awareness of the transience and a gentle sadness at the passing of our experiences, our things, and our lives. The Japanese use the term "mono no aware" to describe this awareness and melancholy.
