About the Book
What began as two separate projects became a dream shared when both talents united in their love for FUMC to create this book. Sandra Grimland and Keith Harris, devoted members, coalesced their efforts to spread the knowledge and chronicle the history of Christian symbolism and of their faith. They take the reader through a pictorial tour within the walls of this church via the textiles, glass, and carvings, conveyed through these labors of love.
FUMC of Arlington stands proudly as a beacon to all to come and worship. The facility itself beckons all who enter to be comforted by the traditions surrounding them through the serenity of the stained glass windows, the meticulously carved altar pieces and pews, and lovingly embroidered tapestries which provide warmth and beauty. All of these elements reflect the congregants’ desire for their house of worship to announce to the world “To God Be the Glory."
