About the Book
With The Admont Library's emergence as a bookstore, I'm eager to announce the upcoming publication of the first edition of The Admont Abbey Magazine, the only magazine dedicated to booksellers and admirers of classic literature alike. In the extension of The Admont Library as an idea rather than merely a bookstore, The Abbey is a magazine that seeks to celebrate the joy of reading, be it in all shapes and forms. Moreover, we seek to extend beyond the facade of an antiquarian bookstore by developing a community of which both admirers of literature and booksellers can call home.
When it comes to our magazine, anything book-related goes as we recognize that bookselling is hardly as limited of an industry as one might think, even with regard to a niche as specific as that of antiquarian bookselling. In fact, booksellers often find themselves branching out into the realm of collecting illuminated manuscripts, old maps, antique French clocks, facsimiles, and even typewriters. As such, our magazine will ultimately seek to explore such topics given our focus on the appreciation of knowledge on a general scale.
