About the Book
These beasts are bloodless as they have been killed, drained of blood, skinned and turned into furry or fleshy sculpture, and for the most part placed in tableaux. This process is an equivalent of the photographic process: the subject is fixed in time, the figure and ground are aligned, and the vantage point and frame are determined. As such, the tableau provides rich ground for the photographer.
