About the Book
This book contains rare views from the interior of the Great Mosque in Djenne. This Mosque is probably the largest adobe building in the world, it is also one of the oldest Mosques in Western Africa. While the actual building originates from 1906/07, this site has been location for a mosque since about 1240.

Borne in Germany, he now lives in Ireland. In the early nineteen sixties Michael began documenting his world on [grainy] b&w film. In his photos he records people, events and sites of interest to him. He worked in Belgium, Bolivia, Canada, Greece, Germany, Italy, Indonesia, Ireland, Mali, Malaysia, Malta, Morocco, Peru and Spain. In 2004 photography became a more important part of his life. He has since shown his work inter-nationally in Germany, Belgium, Italy and Ireland.
