About the Book
Call + Response Journal has always been and always will be an art + literary journal tailored for creators of colors. We see the disparities in the publishing world and we are dedicated to closing the gap, volume by volume. Volume II is on the theme of Folklore. We pulled from our main source of inspiration, Anansi the Spider, a West African trickster God whose folktales are told from generation to generation. To us, the value of Folklore lies in the creativity of storytelling. Whether through imagery or words, we wanted to create a space where the imagination could run wild.
