About the Book
Patrick was two years old when, after the 2nd World War his father Dr Ferguson was posted to Nigeria under the Colonial Medical Service, after serving in the 81st West African Field Division as part of the Chindits in Burma. Patrick and his mother joined Dr Ferguson where they lived for the next five years. His father was Medical Officer i/c of the city hospitals in Benin, Makurdi, Kano and Sokoto. This book is an account of Patrick's memories of his life there illustrated by the atmospheric black and white photos that his parents took during that unforgettable time [1947-1952]
