About the Book
In 2006 I had roughly 200 rolls of expired color films, which I bought a few years earlier when all my assignments were still shot on color film. But due to increasing pressure from the clients who demanded quicker turnouts and cheaper expenses, I switched to digital in 2004.
These films had been sitting untouched past their expiration dates in my refrigerator. I couldn’t throw them out like spoiled milk or rotten meat, so I decided to shoot New York City in color for my own pleasure.
