About the Book
This is a photo book on brick workers of India. Over the past two decades India has seen a real economic boom. As a result, the brick making industry has grown rapidly. India is now the second largest producer of bricks in the world. But the industry is largely unregulated making it a hot bed for exploitation of labour. This book exposes the working conditions of the workers where child labour is used and many end up as bonded labour.
This collection of photographs in the book show the men, women and children living and working in harsh conditions to eke out an existence.
