About the Book
Set at an intersectional ‘Thick’ Mars, the nz Millennium Interregnum series MLS (Mars Legal Studies) 1 - 10 is a case study of Existence versus Essence, or, as defined within the early MLS, by the Gilbert Ryle Category Error. Following closely the Gilbert Ryle's 1968 discussion paper The Thinking of Thoughts: What is the Le Penseur Doing? the ACL upgrading of Exhibit B from the 2008 July 7 A.M, CIV 2001 404-0031913 and CIV 2006 404-004262 Hearings, Courtroom 13, before Harrison J examines the skid marks left behind from a head-on collision between a Hobbes Occam worldview and a Cartesian Platonist worldview. In short, in this living New Zealand horror story, the 1968 question posed by Gilbert Ryle is extended by structure-preserving mapping to the environs of Mars. Terms such as the Japanese term 'chuninbyo' and the Nietzschean ‘Ubermensch’ are introduced within the context of Ryle’s Ghost in the Machine.
