About the Book
For the last 4 years we have been documenting the interiors of manufacturing sites, prisons, churches, brown fields, vacant domestic dwellings and other decommissioned and abandoned buildings.
The images in this book are more than just snap-shots of building façades and destruction. They are panoramas of places that are, or once contained, an energy of industry and life that created communities around them. Each photo is more than a room, basement, toxic factory, or mountain of bricks; they are fragments of the Canadian landscape and our identity.
These are our Modern Canadian Interiors.
