    About the Book

    Edit

In 2010 I cycled solo across the United States, from April 12 to June 6, from The Plains, Virginia to Seattle, Washington. This book is a compilation of my experience, including my preparation, my thoughts along the way, and how it changed my life. The book is a stunning compilation of photos from across the country and would be helpful to anyone planning their own cycling adventure. You can contact me at sebastianw [at] live [dot] com.

I was born in Toronto, Canada of British Parents, Michael and Georgiana Watt. My sister, Emily, is two years younger than me. We grew up in between The Plains and Middleburg, Virginia in the heart of horse-country, and attended Wakefield School. I mountain biked with my dad growing up, but never cycled until my third year at the University of Mary Washington to cross-train for rowing. While in college, I was captain of the mens varsity rowing team, and worked for Attorney Wesley G. Marshall. After graduating in May 2009, I continued working at the law office, applied to law schools, and started planning an adventure. I finished this book in January 2013, when I was a third year law student at Penn State Law. After graduation I will be moving to Philadelphia with the beautiful Jessica Case. I hope my transamerica trip was only my first adventure of many.
