About the Book
State Records NSW holds thousands of archival photos from the late 19th Century to the present, capturing life in New South Wales in much of its richness and diversity. The original formats of these images vary widely, from glass plates and lantern slides to 35mm film negatives, colour transparencies and prints.
It was though our "Moments in Time" blog series on Archives Outside that we were inspired to create this book. The blog series asks a question each fortnight "Can you date this photo?" and much enjoyment and head scratching ensues over who can identify the images and how.

About the Creator
State Records New South Wales
Sydney, Australia
State Records is the NSW Government's archives and records management authority. We manage the NSW State archives collection and we set the rules and provide guidance on the management of official records. Our off-budget Government Records Repository (GRR) provides records storage services to the public sector. Our archival collection dates back to the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788.
