Celebrando la Vida on the Blue Cruise (Turkey, August 2009)
Aboard the Sadri Usta with Necla and Friends
We sailed from Bodrum, a popular resort town in southwestern Turkey, 15 friends on board a Turkish gulet called the Sadri Usta.
Blue cruises started with Cevat Şakir Kabaağaçlı who wrote a book called Mavi Yolculuk (Blue Voyages) about his journeys in traditional wooden fishing boats to rediscover Turkey's natural wonders. Our own voyage of discovery began when Necla invited her friends and family to spend eight days sailing down the Aegean to marvel at the rugged landsapes and the ever-changing turquoise waters.
In the process we grew closer together and learned the importance of celebrating life.
