About the Book
Anime Picks’ main goal was to bring interesting and fun content to its readers who enjoyed anime, gaming, Japanese culture, anime conventions and so much more. It started as a small blog in 2008, and grew year on year to become a site with thousands of readers and followers.
Created by Gina Lucia, the site varied in content, but with the help of contributors and friends, it soon filled out to have many unique concepts previously unseen on similar sites. Anime Picks was one of the only multi-content site of its genre to take a specific interest in small press and the artists behind it. It started by reviewing comics and manga created in the UK, and moved to feature the artists themselves.
Anime Picks would have been nothing without its reviews. With releases from Manga UK, MVM Entertainment, Beez, Anime Limited, Animax, Crunchyroll, Anime on Line and Daisuki, Anime Picks was spoiled for choice. Jordan King, Robert Mullarkey and Will Stocks made sizeable and well-rounded reviews to AP’s list of titles.
As all news sites need to have news, Anime Picks needed to produce regular postings, and with the help of Mike Begg, Anime Picks was able to provide the UK anime community with weekly news roundups containing not only anime news, but gaming and others too.
