About the Book
'In Living Contrast' was inspired by my study of the Taoist philosophy of polarity and 'mutual arising'. These are the foundational Taoist views of reality and the nature of the world. Everything and every event is seen as being what it is, in relationship and comparison to what it is not.
These are not ideas of conflict, rather ideas of polarity and harmony. The expression of two different things that are interdependent and inseparable, yet...one cannot exist without the other. Not unlike us.
The images contained in this book cover a wide range of subject matter. No one particular genre, their common denominator is me and the meaning I bring to each of them.
